Red Leather

Materials and Craft

I reclaimed the red leather from discarded jackets and old upholstery. I set every stud by hand, one by one - hundreds of silver points pressed into the hide with a setter and a mallet. Into the corset's boning I sewed a hidden pocket, sized for a packet of tissues. My mother, Chani, always carried tissues in her pocket. That detail is quiet and private inside a garment that is anything but.

The Graduation Collection

This is part of "I Love You Mom" - my graduation body of work at Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art. I lined the ensemble with my mother's satin nightgown. Red wine bottles gave me the shape of a sculpted leather accessory.

Recognition and Screen

I was shortlisted with this collection for the 2025 RLSD (Real Leather. Stay Different.) international design competition, and it later became the wardrobe for Nasrin Kadri's music video "Lo Lifnot Elay," appearing throughout the video and on the album cover.

The red is unapologetic. The studs catch light and throw it back. But underneath the armour, in that hidden pocket, the collection holds what it's really about.
