Sustainability - Emo Kids

The Concept

Emo kids grew up. They still wear the same band T-shirts, but now the leather is reclaimed and I set the studs by hand.

Materials and Sourcing

I took the raw energy of early-2000s emo and punk - the studded belts, the band patches, the plaid shirts tied around the waist - and rebuilt it as fashion. NIRVANA denim, plaid patchwork, leather jackets covered in hand-set studs. I bought nothing new. I sourced every material from thrift stores, donations, and my own studio scrap pile.

Recognition

I won the Dizengoff Centre sustainable fashion competition with this collection, and it made the cover of Yediot Aharonot's fashion supplement. I showed it at Fashion Week 2021 - my statement that sustainability is not a trend or a limitation. It's how I've always worked. You take what exists. You make it mean something new.
